Obviously, in terms of the Internet, “the times, they are a-changin’.”  In the world of social media things are rapidly moving forward constantly.   Just when you think you’ve gotten one application down and are using it to the best of its capabilities for your business, another one comes along.  Of course, the reality is, that the next generation of applications and tools may be even easier and more successful for you.  That is the case with Google Buzz – Google’s latest social networking tool.  Buzz is poised to compete with the likes of Twitter and similar micro-blogging platforms while allowing for integration.  In fact, Buzz can accept feeds from Twitter, Flickr, and blog accounts.  Many bloggers and techies are furiously working to add Google Buzz buttons and tools to their blogs in order to increase their online presence and usability.

If you are already a Gmail user for personal or business correspondence, you have the ability to quickly set up Google Buzz and use it more easily than others who aren’t registered.  Once you intialize your Google Buzz account and begin to explore the options and potential for you, you may find that you are at the beginning of a “hurry up and wait” situation.  That’s fine.  After all, when you first signed on to Twitter, Facebook, and other social media tools, that probably wasn’t the case either.  With Buzz there is the added advantage of being able to use your current Google mail contacts to build your Buzz quicker and easier.

To get started with Google Buzz, you will receive a colorful icon underneath your Inbox link in gmail once you’ve configured it.  Click on it and you will be directed to a feed of posts by the people you follow, with a status box on top of it for you to post videos, news, links, and photos.  When you click on the Connected Sites option, you are given the ability to integrate your Twitter, Picasa, and other selected accounts into Buzz.  What this means is that every time you tweet or post a video or photo, it shows in your feed.  To maximize the advantages of Google Buzz, you will definitely want to configure your Google profile – if you haven’t already.

When you set up your Google profile, you can offer as much or as little information about yourself as you desire.  You have the ability to use a nifty avatar, post work contact information, and give little known revelations about yourself like your personal “superpower.”  There is also the ability to add links to all of your web sites, social profiles, and any online listing you may have to create the ultimate virtual calling card.  With its availability as a feed, you can also implement RSS into a blog, align it with your Twitter account, or create a handy widget for online display.

Google Buzz is truly a new force in online social interaction and is here to stay.  There are critics who are naysayers on the platform.  However, Google is a powerhouse which has no signs of fading, so there may be something in Buzz that is valuable for your social marketing strategy. Dependent upon your existing gmail contacts, Google+ information, or Google Friend Connect, Buzz makes updating to your customized set audience easier which in turn increases the number of folks reached with your viral marketing.

So, why now create your own “buzz” and increase your online presence by integrating what you already have active into the Google Buzz system.  It’s here to say and as the overall network of users grows, you will probably find that it’s well worth adding to your existing marketing schedules.

The first thing I remember perfectly is the cute robot on the left here: a gift from my sweet-hearted affiliate Kitty, who said to be inspired by my posts. I’m so happy about this little cute robot, that I cannot stop looking at it; it truly deserved being placed on this entry!

Secondly, I had thought of having a Blogging Character Contest, which would have very simple rules:

1- invent your own Characters and make it Blog about his/her life for 30 days;

2- at the end of the month, I would take 1 week to read the blogs and then choose the most creative one!

3- Of course, there would be a 2nd and 3rd place as well, picked at random between the remaining entries.

Most of my Robocity characters, anyway, now have digital TVs at home, and some of my Prime Family characters do too. TV has changed a lot in real world over the last five years, and so my fictional people have to live along with the ‘upgrades’ in their timeline too. The resources I mostly use to write the ‘real-life’ portion of the TV channels are mytvoptions.com, cox.com and timewarnercable.com, and then I add up programs and/or movies to them. Sometimes I take the inspiration from what I watch at home or at cinema.

In other news: new Characters’ blogs are coming soon, new Robocitans and members of the Prime family, as well as friends of both continuities. I’m not going to spoil WHO these Characters are, for now; I’ll publish a list of names and URLs on this blog when I have the sites up and running. Keep checking back for updates.

The inspiration burst who brought me to create little Ambrosia was given to me by a Transformers fanfiction I read on 2001 on a – now closed – website called Lexicon.TF; that story narrated of the Decepticon Soundwave meeting a little girl in the street called Ambrosia, a casual meeting that had him think over things. I was so fascinated and touched by that story that I felt the need to have my own Ambrosia, with her own background story, meeting my Robocity Soundwave and become his daughter. That initial plot gave life to an intricate web of relationships, past lives and redeemed hearts that brought to the current personality of Ambrosia Nici Echo.

Here’s what Ambrosia says about herself on her Biography page:

My name is Ambrosia Nici. I was born in Rome, Italy, on August 2nd, 1997. I don’t know who my natural parents are. I’ve grown up in a religious monastery in Genzano, kept by Agostinian nuns; I’m an orphan, and my last name “Nici” was given to me by a nun who kept me under her own care. I was then adopted by Soundwave Echo, from Robocity, on 2005. Now, my full name is Ambrosia Nici Echo, and I’m officially part of the Robocity community.

From her ‘birth’ to now, Ambrosia has earned her place between the most popular Robocity World characters, online and offline. She is very loved for her friendly personality, her humility and love for her family and all people around her.

Now, if you’ve noticed my Characters’ new blog entries this last week, they’re all after cash advance loans and the like; the reason is very simple: I’m in need of money myself, and it’s very annoying sometimes that I have to choose between the things to prioritize all along the week. That means… that I vent through my Characters’ lives, allowing them get easy loans so that they can be a little happier than I can be. I’m proud of this “way” of making my Characters blog anyway, because it makes them realistic and symphatetic to real world people.

I might be compiling a list of real-life topics to use on my Characters’ daily lives soon, so that I don’t lack ideas for blogging whenever I get too tired. And believe me.. that happens TOO often of late! ^^”

I recently applied for subdomain hosting at a number of people’s domains – all very notorious, like CBD-Hosting.net and the like – to get a blog account for my new characters, and some old ones I never had a chance to develop. It’s time that I work on these websites before anything else, as I want everything setup by the end of March, so I can start scheduling again.

Have I mentioned already that my Robocity characters were getting a DIRECT TV system? Mmh… I guess I did, some entries ago… I should also put up more Characters Listings and Spotlights, but first I really want to finish those ‘How to make a blogging Character’ articles before I end up with a bigger queue than my height. Anyway, to end the topic of the Direct TV, I tell you already that most of the TV-related posts from my characters will regard international channels, favourite programs and TV resources of their liking. Just for the curious ones between you: I use MyTVOptions.com for reference. ^^

Guess I’ve got to cut it short for tonight, since I have some Trigonometry to revise (yes, I find it difficult to understand). ‘Till later.

For other news, the Robocitans are switching their old cable TV to a Direct TV package this month, which means they’ll have more channels and the package will be shared by the whole community. Cute, isn’t it? I thought of ‘upgrading’ my little imaginary town with a Direct Satellite TV
after reading a webpage about a kind of Direct TV in New York, and since I wanted my characters to be able to watch more channels, this one sounded like a good idea to apply to Robocity. So, you’ll hear them blogging more about what they watch on screen! ;D Hehe.

One of my upcoming characters is a “Transformer”-like Robocitan who transforms into a Toyota Camry 2002 and comes to Robocity for the first time because he is injured, and needs auto repair. When Dr. Firebot does check engine light and is about to fix it for him, he realizes something about this robot…

Well, that is all so far, and I’m not going to spoil more for now. I might turn this robot’s story into a short story for my Robocity World ‘Tales’ section too. It’d be interesting. I have other on going projects about Robocity, but the lack of time and studying don’t allow me to continue them all for now, so I had to put some on hold until I get more free time.
